Are you confused which serum would be the right one for your skin?

Almost 3 years ago when I started my skincare journey it was the same for me as well. Availability of so many products in the market made me so confused. My entire forehead, chin area as well as cheeks was covered with small bumps and blackheads. It was a task for me to not feel bad about it. I would research, and read articles from a different dermatologist or any content that had explained skincare in detail.

Facial serums are among the top skincare products for the properties they have. Serums are formulated in such a way that they could work for specific skin concerns while boosting the overall health of the skin. From brightening and hydrating to getting rid of any hyperpigmentation there are all different serums for all skin concerns.

If finding the right serum is a task for you then you’re not alone here !

Since there are different serums available in the market and with all the social media giving you bits of advice, I am sure it might be a bit confusing and overwhelming for anyone. Often people get influenced by others and their routines. What we need to understand is that every skin is unique, so do it’s problem and needs to be treated accordingly. The skin care journey of every individual is different and unique.

We all want a quick fix for our problems but honestly repairing skin barrier and making it healthy is not a short journey it takes time, patience, and consistency like any other work.

It took almost 5 months of consistency with salicylic acid serum when I first introduced it into my skincare routine. My blackheads started to reduce significantly and I could see my skin was healing. Along with the addition of new serum, I also worked side by side on my diet. As any teenager, my consumption of junk food was quite high which was not a great choice of mine.

Now let me simplify this for you.

Although there are a lot of serums available in the market which claim dozens of benefits, you don’t need all of that together to get better and healthier skin.

Take your time to understand and analyze what seems to be your skin concern and then decide. It’s more likely for us to get influenced by social media whenever any new product gets hyped which often leaves us with a feeling of missing out. Just like eating the right food is needed to keep your gut healthy, giving that one right ingredient is all you need to keep your skin healthy.

One serum can do wonders if it’s the right one for your skin. We shouldn’t use all different serums altogether without considering our skin concerns.

Which serum to choose according to your skin problem;

The very first serum is Salicylic acid serum, it’s an active ingredient that helps you with acne and blackheads mainly. If you have oily skin or acne-prone skin with blackheads you need to add salicylic acid serum to your skincare routine. Always remember to use any skincare product after cleansing your face.

Someone with oily skin or acne-prone skin that has hyperpigmentation or any acne marks should use Niacinamide serum. It not only helps to get rid of acne marks and hyperpigmentation but also helps with larger pores. Niacinamide serum is one of the best serums for such skin concerns as it controls oil production within the skin.

Uneven skin tone has been a common concern for many people with all skin types. If this is your problem too you should start using Kojic acid serum. This serum helps you to even out the skin tone as well as the hyperpigmentation. For uneven skin tone especially around our mouth, this serum works wonders for that.

If your skin is dry, flaky, and rough you probably are not giving enough hydration to your skin as it needs. The hyaluronic acid serum is the best for such skin problems. It hydrates your skin and makes it plumped and nourished. Dry patches around your mouth, and cheeks or overall dryness in your face might be the sign that it’s asking for hydration.

If you don’t have any specific concerns whatsoever then you can go with Vitamin C serum. This serum helps you grow gracefully while nourishing your skin making it brighter and healthier. This serum also has some properties that can help you to even out the uneven skin tone. It’s perfect to add it to your AM skincare routine followed up with a moisturizer and of course a sunscreen of your choice.

Personally it’s my everyday serum as currently and keeps my skin healthy and glowy.

Give the right treatment that your skin is asking for and only then you will get the desired result for your skin. Don’t let social media fool you with the FOMO.
